The main transmission structure of planetary reducer is: planetary gear, sun gear, outer ring gear.

Planetary reducer due to structural reasons, the minimum single-stage deceleration is 3, the maximum is generally not more than 10, the common reduction ratio is: 3.4.5.6.8.10, the reducer series is generally not more than 3, but some large reduction ratio custom reducer has 4 deceleration.

Compared with other reducers, planetary reducer has high rigidity, high precision (single stage can be achieved within 1 point), high transmission efficiency (single stage in 97%-98%), high torque/volume ratio, lifelong maintenance-free and other characteristics.

Because of these characteristics, most planetary reducers are installed on stepper motors and servo motors to reduce speed, increase torque, and match inertia.

The rated input speed of the reducer can reach up to 18000rpm (related to the size of the reducer itself, the larger the reducer, the smaller the rated input speed). The output torque of the industrial planetary reducer is generally not more than 2000Nm, and the special super torque planetary reducer can be more than 10000Nm. The working temperature is generally around -25 ℃ to 100 ℃. The working temperature can be changed by changing the grease.

Several concepts about planetary reducer:

Series: the number of sets of planetary gears. Because a set of star gears cannot meet the larger transmission ratio, sometimes 2 or 3 sets are needed to meet the requirements of supporting the larger transmission ratio. Due to the increase in the number of star gears, the length of the 2 or 3 level reducer will increase and the efficiency will decrease.

Return clearance: the output end is fixed, the input end rotates clockwise and counterclockwise, so that the input end produces the rated torque +-2% torque, the reducer input end has a small angular displacement, this angular displacement is the return clearance. The unit is "min", that is, one degree of 1/60. Some people call it backlash.
